The SwissToni New Year Manifesto (part i)

"I will get out more."

---

This probably needs some explanation. I won't really be going anywhere at all. In fact, what's most likely to happen is that, as a result of this, I will actually go out less. The truth is that I feel as though I have become a little stuck in my ways. When I started doing this it was all pretty simple. I wrote this and that was more or less it. Then at some point I started reading other blogs, and my life got richer. So I read more, and after a while I had a little set that I really liked. Then somehow I stopped looking. I got comfortable with the ones I read, and only occasionally started to read others as I stumbled across them.

I love you all to bits, but the internet is a big place and there must be loads of other brilliant ones out there waiting to be read....

So I'm going to start looking for them.

Every week, I am going to find a new blog and put a link up here for you to check out. I'm not going to search high and low or anything like that, but I will put a bit of effort into it. Some of them you might be familiar with (perhaps you already link to them), others you might not know at all... all of them will be worth at least a quick look, and maybe along the way we'll find some absolute corkers.

It'll get me out, anyway, after a fashion.

So here we go.

Blog of the Week #1 -- Delrico Bandito

"Adventures of a self confessed media whore in the London jungle."

I found this one lurking in my site stats somewhere, although on reflection I should also be familiar with Del from his work on The Art Of Noise, where he is contributing to the A-Z of music. You'll have seen that I'm a sucker for music, and you'll know I'm a sucker for lists... so when I saw that Del's just put up his singles of the year, I was hooked. He appears to like Coldplay too, which may have helped, and he's also been good enough to link to my Earworms of the Year post, which definitely did....

There's also a picture of Buffy wearing a Santa hat.....blog of the week it is then.

So go see what you think (and put all thoughts of Nathan Barley out of your mind as you do so)

Next week, something completely different.

I know exactly where you are coming from. I have also stopped using the next blog button, which is where I found half of my friends from in the first place.

    Good idea, Sir. Good idea.

Wow, I'm quite honoured to be the first blog of the week ever. As Nathan himself would have it, that's "well f***ing Mexico." Keep it futile.

An excellent idea. And I am happy to hear you making resolutions. I'll be interested to see what else you've decided.

And this would be why you are legend.

It's an interesting resolution, actually, as I was thinking the opposite. I was thinking that I'd actually like to get to know much better the people I already know, rather than go out and meet thousands of new people.

*quivers in fear of being bumped by Foxy*

You know, I hate to pull up from discussions below, but you must havea brain of steel to have liked Grapes of Wrath. Of course, I had it beaten into me by our school system here, so that may be why I hate it...I don't know.

Either way, I am eagerly awaiting resolution part 2. Its nice to see you inspired [and dare I say it] helping us to be so as well.

[ps- I don't know what it is about your blog, but I ALWAYS get difficult word verification on yours. Don't you have a 'make it easy' button back there somewhere?]

Good work Swiss - Del's blog certainly deserves wider exposure.

Ooer missus, it's not that sort of blog. Good morning...

Heheh, I really am selling myself well, aren't I? Catchphrases and the kind of inane banter worthy of Andi Peters.
