The fifth season of "24" started on UK television this evening.
I'm pleased to be able to report that it is as spectacularly silly as ever. Two things appear certain:
1) Jack Bauer's position as the world's über alpha male will be secure
2) I will be hopelessly addicted to this nonsense for the next six months.
Helicopters! Explosions! Assassinations! Terrorists! Conspiracies!
Run Kim! Run!
Stupidly implausible? Yes. Brilliantly compelling? Undoubtedly.
May God bless America and all who sail in her.

ST-- I say we send Jack Bauer after Morris! I LOVE 24 and I'm so happy you're a fan!!! Although we're a few hours ahead of you over here, so my lips are sealed. We'll have to gossip about it when the season is done.
My Monday night crushing on Jack is enough to make me forget all other less deserving men (at least while he's in my sight!)

I was up 'til 07:00 on Saturday morning watching series 4. I much prefer waiting til the whole thing is out on DVD, then putting on a big pot of coffee & box of jaffa cakes for a right old binge.
Think i still have two boxes of Jaffs left, so its back home tonight to try and slog through the rest of it.

I'm not a fan...somehow I can tolerate watching something outrageous if it has a supernatural theme, but I couldn't sustain this one. I did love the first season, though.
