The SwissToni New Year Manifesto (part ii)

"I will write more"

----

Spending November writing a 50,000 word novel has made me realise how much I want to write. No actually, it wasn't that. It was finishing the novel and spending most of December realising how the process of writing had filled a gap in my life. It's not so much that my job is unfulfilling and uninspiring, although a lot of the time that's true... it's that writing made me feel so much better about myself. I really felt as though I was creating something, and I want to feel like that a whole lot more often.

So I'm going to write more.

I am going to start writing stuff. It might not be another 50,000 novel (at least not yet), and it might not be every day, but I am going to write stuff. And do you know what else? I'm going to try and take some of you lot with me....

Allow me to introduce you to Reader Meet Author.

Reader Meet Author
is a collaborative blog. It's a place where people can publish their writing. Could be autobiography; could be fiction; could be long; could be short; could be cross-posted from somewhere else.... it could be a damn book review for all I care. It just needs to be writing. Ideally this will be fresh, exciting and original writing. However, as I'm stale, dull and derivative myself, perhaps that's being overly ambitious, and I'll take anything I can get. I want stories. I want fairy tales. I want sketches. I want reviews. I also quite fancy trying writing a collaborative novel... one chapter or one paragraph at a time.

All I need now are some people who are willing to give it a go and to see where it takes us. Just let me know if you're interested, and I'll set you up as a member.

Or were you waiting for a commission?

Hmmm...I'm in. With the caveat that it won't be my fault if my legal education makes me go all John Grisham on you.

What about mildly licentious fan fiction

What about full on slash using only blog names? Bring it on, foxy!

    Oh dear.

I think I'm going to have to sign up for this and bore you all with incredibly cliched fantasy and horror material from the depths of my twisted and warped mind.

    ...I'm not kidding either.
