it's a kind of magic...

Jesus Christ. The next Harry Potter film really is going in an unexpected direction....

I shudder to think what else J.K. Rowling has got lined up for "The Deathly Hallows". Ron and Hermione perhaps? Snape and Malfoy? Hagrid and a hippogriff? The mind boggles. I didn't think she had it in her, but I suppose her audience have all grown up now and their minds have been hardened by years of unmonitored access to the internet. The bar had to be raised.

Or perhaps Daniel Radcliffe is just taking a few obvious steps to escape a defining role that is threatening to be an albatross on the rest of his career. Hmm, let's think. What role could be about as far away from a wholesome teenaged wizard as you can get? How about a pyschotic stablehand who blinds horses with a spike? Yeah. That might do the trick.

Is it just me, or do these photos somehow just seem, well....wrong?

For starters, what the hell is going on with that fuzz? Is that attractive?

There is something completely disgusting about seeing an underage wizard naked. For better or worse, until Harry Potter is done, I can't think of him as being over the age of 18.

    As for the fuzz...double ew.

J - From what I can tell, Daniel Radcliffe is legal in the UK, and most of the USA.

Dan - I figured he probably was, but in my mind he is definitely not of age, due to my inability to let go of my impression of him in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorceror's Stone. If that makes any sense.

He's not underage. He is, without a doubt, "quite fit".

I don't find them wrong at all. Harry Potter, however? Quite, quite wrong.

I'm with LB...although I enjoy Harry Potter. Somehow looking at those images, nothing brings to mind Harry Potter...and when I see the next Harry Potter, I probably won't be thinking of those images. They are different characters, although represented by the same man (even when the man is playing a boy, which happens more often than we would care to admit).

I have similar 'wrong' feelings watching Skins on E4. Last time I saw that kid he was distinctly pre-pubescent, know he's... Actually quite good looking and getting loads of... Well, you can finish that sentence before I get in trouble.

I have no shame whatsoever. Grass / Pitch / Play.

Talking of plays, Equus is one of my all time favourites, and providing he does it justice, an inspired piece of career engineering, I think.

"Equus" is a great play. I hope that Daniel Radcliffe pulls it off.

    (Oooh, err!)

I've discussed this very topic - the hotness that is the budding manhood of Daniel Radcliffe - with friends, other women like myself (i.e. old enough to be his mother). It is disconcerting, yet unavoidable: He's hot, and there's no denying it.

I wait in line behind my 9-year-old daughter to finish her big, hard-covered Harry Potter books, for my turn to read them, and to picture Harry, in the flesh as Daniel, fighting He Who Should Not Be Named.

Oh, may the guilty pleasure never end!
