alright...

A few people have been very kindly asking me how my dad has been getting on since his diagnosis with cancer and his subsequent surgery... and indeed, it's now been six months since the operation that removed one of his kidneys and a chunk of the surrounding tissue. Well, Dad recovered from that operation well and is now back at work and as grumpy as ever. At the time, the surgeon had said how the tumour looked as though it came out in one piece and that the surrounding tissue had tested clean. That was all good news, of course, but as with most cancers, it then became a waiting game to see if the cancer had spread and if it had got a foothold somewhere else in his body.

A couple of weeks ago, Dad went back into hospital for his six month check, and the good news is that all of the tests came back negative..... so although he's got to go back in another six months and then in another six months after that and so on.... so far so good.

You can't really ask for any more than that.
