why don't you play the game?
Shall we have a shuffleathon update then, eh?
Why not?
Just to summarise: this is where you volunteer to have your name put into an actual hat with a bunch of other names. I will draw from this actual hat the name of someone who you may or may not know... I will send you this person's name and their address details, and your task is to make that person a compilation CD. It can be as personal and as tailored to that person as you like, or you can simply send them a bunch of tracks that you like. It's really up to you. At the same time, someone else will pull your name out of the actual hat - and I'm thinking of using my fedora this year - and they will be making and sending a complilation CD especially for you. The deal is that you have to write and publish a review of the CD that you receive, receiving in return a review of the CD that you sent to someone else (it's possible you could be drawn against the same person, but far from certain). Hopefully it's all good fun and we all have a great time.
Got it?
OK then. Where are we with this crazy shit then?
There's still time to take part if you want to. I'm probably going to draw the line on Sunday this week, so if you email at the address in my profile before then.... I've got a spreadsheet and everything this year, so it's all very professional and shit. Have no fears on that score, my friends.
If you haven't yet sent me your address, then could you do likewise and send it to me at the same address, even if you think I might still have it from last year? If you don't want me to share your address with anyone, then please let me know and I will happily act as an intermediary, forwarding on CDs as they arrive with me. Data Protection is taken very seriously around here, and I won't be leaving any memory sticks filled with your personal information on the tube anytime soon. No sir, not me.
All things being even, I'll look to get the draw done some time at the beginning of next week.... and then the fun can really start.
So come on then: who's got their tracklisting nailed already? I'm waiting to see who I get, but it's okay, you can tell me if you're all finished and good to go.... there aren't any rules.
Hmm. There's a lot of music stuff around these parts this week, and with earworms to come tomorrow, it's not something that's going to be changing anytime soon. I haven't given you a review of any comics I've read recently or anything.
Perhaps a moustache update tomorrow then, with a picture and everything. That's something for you all to look forward to, eh?

I've got my songs picked out... I might change one or two by the time I get an address, but for a change I didn't obsess about it this year.

I think I'm gonna have to give it a miss this year as I will only disappoint. Good luck to everyone else though!

I will no doubt agonise over the tracklisting for many an hour. But that's half the fun!
