In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey
I nearly left a note on someone's car the other night. I actually wrote one out, carefully wrapped it up in clingfilm so that it wouldn't get wet and walked out of the house to pop it under the front windscreen wiper. At the last minute I managed to stop myself though.
Perhaps I should explain: parking is at something of a premium around us, and this clown had parked his car right in the middle of a two car space. It wasn't his first offence either - he drives a bloody great VW Scirocco, so he's pretty easy to spot, and is showing definite signs of making a habit of this.
Annoying, but is it enough to tip me into becoming the kind of person who leaves notes?

I left a note on someones car before...
I clipped a bunch of letters out of the newspaper, taped them to a sheet of paper, and put it under his windshield wiper.
I was friends with the guy though, and did it just to be annoying.
Notes won't do any good. This guy needs his car mysteriously moved a block away.

I left a note once...It was on an SUV that had parked in a "compact" spot (these spots are conveniently marked with the word "compact"). It said: "In no one's universe is this a compact car."
Perhaps, it was petty of me, but I just get pissy about SUVs, in general, these days. (And let's not get me started on Hummers...)

I would leave a note. I would. That's wrong. We had a guy who used to do that at school with his trans am, only he would take 3 spaces parking horizontally. So one weekend we all carpooled and parked right up on him and left them for the weekend so he couldn't move his car. He quit doing it. :)

have never left a note before, never thought that it would work. I mean his already bloody inconsiderate ... would a note make a difference?
call a tow truck and send it to the shops. THEN YOU LEAVE A NOTE at the empty space telling them where to find their car.

I probably would have left the note. And then felt guilty about it...better not to leave it at all, I say.

Hi Swiss. I would only leave a note if I was sure that this person was actually guilty. I've parked my car into a tiny space before, only to return to it later, finding that it looks like I've parked like an idiot because the cars around my car have left, only to be replaced by other cars of a different length. It might be possible that no one has parked like an idiot, but that the spaces have changed size. This poor guy in the Passat (I used to drive one, by mistake, of course) might just be unlucky enough to have had spaces move around him a couple of times.
I'm sure you've thought of this already...

Sorry. It was a Scirocco, and I've never had one of those.
