Congratulations, respect and big up to the Ultimate Olympian, who completed the London Triathlon yesterday.

More later, but in the meantime, well done John!

And it only took me 16 hours 40 minutes and 39 seconds!

    Real times:

    Swim - 00:41:25
    Bike - 01:36:39
    Run - 01:01:37
    Total - 03:30:24

And my finishing position? 666 (out of I'm not sure how many, but I'd guess about 666). Nice.

I couldn't have done it without the help and support of ST and C though - so huge thanks to my crew (chamon).

Seriously--to begin with-- Ultimate Olympian's Mum here--We were SO sorry to hear about your problems which stopped you from entering the Triathlon yourself. We hope you will be feeling MUCH better very soon. (Glad to know this illness will not affect your good looks)!!
You have been UNBELIEVABLY helpful to John over his training, competing, cycle borrowing etc. etc.
The LEAST he can do now--in return--is to enter again next year and give YOU a bit of moral support. (Tell him he doesn't have to tell ME if he's doing it again)! You and C have been BRILLIANT--MANY MANY THANKS to you both and best wishes for full recovery T XOXO

Well done, John. That is a gobsmacking achievement.

Did you hang around a bit to let number 665 overtake so you could get the spooky number?

There's a brilliant pic of the event on p6 of today's Guardian - I can't find it online, but its worth a look if you've got the paper to hand.
